Murphy’s Bar is a family run pub with six generations. Established in 1789 the pub is a landmark in the small village of Boolteens and a simply heart-warming, hospitable premises for its locals. As it is located on the Dingle Peninsula the trade enjoys the passing tourists-which are at their peak mid June-September to take in the surroundings, entertainment and well served drink of the pub..
The pub is most deceiving from the outside- a comment widely shared by those who have kindly visited. Murphy’s Bar boasts the Sliabh Mish mountain range to the rear of the pub while the front of the pub faces the Macgillycuddy Reeks, including Ireland’s highest mountain peak –Carrauntoohill.
The bar contains a lounge room, pool table, darts board, three main screen televisions ranging from 28″ to 65″ and FREE WI-FI.
A booming local trade to date, the pub is highly connected with local organisations and clubs.
Present owner William Murphy (since 1988), along with his wife Eileen renovated the premises in 2001.
Gráinne Murphy, 7th generation (daughter of Willie & Eileen) is also highly involved in the running of Murphy’s Bar – Gráinne injects a younger trade generation to Murphy’s, co-ordinates any special occasion and keeps on top of the social media side of the business.
